Robert Dryden
Robert Dryden is an accomplished Choral Director, with many years of experience in directing community and school choirs. Originally from Melbourne, Robert was Choral Director of 2 Choirs for over 19 years (Vocally Wild and Mosaic Community Choir), where his joy and love of music guided many choir members in providing numerous opportunities to sing and perform in a variety of arenas. Serving on a number of Arts and Eisteddfod committees, he has had a strong community involvement.
Since arriving in Brisbane, Robert has had the honour of leading the Brisbane Pride Choir and the Moorooka District Community Choir and continued his involvement in the local community. A secondary school teacher by trade, Robert has taught at Toowoomba Grammar School, St Andrew’s Anglican College in Peregian Beach and is now teaching Music, Humanities and History at St Margaret’s Anglican Girls’ School. In terms of musical tastes, Robert is quite eclectic but does have a yearning for the wonderful harmonies of groups from the 60’s (The Beach Boys & The Mamas and the Papas) as well as Musical Theatre, Opera and even modern music.
It’s Robert’s philosophy that everybody can sing, it’s just that sometimes we elect to sing our own tune, and that’s OK!
