Southern Cross Voices was formed in 1992 in the southern suburbs of Brisbane. Since that time, the choir has performed at various functions including the Queenslanders Donate (now Donate Life Queensland) Remembrance Service, the Mission to Seafarers Memorial Service, numerous Anzac Day commemorations, Australia Day ceremonies and various Christmas performances for council and community every year. The choir is regularly called upon to perform for the community at various venues.
The Choir is very active in the local choral community. Southern Cross Voices has hosted the Australian National Choral Association's Big Sing 3 times since it was initiated in 2001. The choir has also performed at various ANCA events including the ANCA Community Choir Concerts. Members of the choir travel down to Hobart every few years to perform and attend vocal workshops at the Festival of Voices.
